Crisis Centre for Northern BC is accepting applications for the position of Executive Director
Founded in 1970, the Crisis Centre for Northern BC is a not for profit organization that provides crisis intervention, suicide prevention, resource information, education and confidential peer support for the people of Northern BC.
The Executive Director:
is accountable to the Board of Directors and is responsible for all of the Centre’s operations and programs, business, public relations, administration and supervision of all personnel and contracts.
provides the leadership required so that the organization provides the highest possible level of service within the resources approved by the Board and consistent with the Board and CLABC’s (Crisis Line Association of British Columbia) policies and, supports the Board and CLABC in fulfilling their governance functions.
will support the Crisis Centre for Northern BC’s philosophy, mission statement and core values.
is the point of convergence for:
an active and committed Board of Directors,
dedicated and knowledgeable staff,
a responsive group of volunteers.
All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching and financial management experience including:
Previous managerial experience and education in related fields such as finance, human resources or business management (budget, payroll, funding proposals, other financial business)
Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives
Past success working with a board of directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Demonstrated teamwork, leadership, planning, organizing and administrative skills
Ability to deal tactfully with sensitive client issues and to model client confidentiality
